It was a warm morning, like any other on Aivos. The clouds were thick, heavy with the promise of rain, though reluctant to let it fall just yet. Two Koltherians walked among hundreds of others, standing out like Celebrities among the normal folk. The female was gorgeous, she looked like she should be royalty with her beautiful features and head held high. She knew she was beautiful, and she knew she had others throwing themselves down at her feet, and she loved it. Mill was well known among the Kolthers of Concoast. She had broken many a hopeful heart.
The other was a broad chested male, who only stood out because of the interesting mismatched coloration of his base. He was black on his left side, and pure white on his right, with a deeper richer black inside of vivid green rectangles that stretched down his neck, sides, and tail. The male had no spines, yet there were scars that littered his body where there might have been some before. When ever someone asked him what happened, he would always give them a different story. Gemini was a strange Koltherian at first look, but as a person, he was Paternal, Protective, and straight forward. He had a bit of an attitude, but a fairly approachable guy in the long run.
Gemini looked to the other as they took yet another turn, "You're sure he's home?" he asked the other, referring to her father. He had shown interest in meeting her parents, and had only just convinced Mill to visit her dad, who lived nearby. The way she described him made him think of a king, or some other royal figure. It shouldn't have surprised him, the way she acted all the time. But he had to admit, he loved her personality. He loved that damn confidence she had, and he loved to fluff that ego of hers.

As the couple walked, citizens stopped and stared, watching in surprise as the red and gold female chatted with the man beside her. It was as if they were witnessing a once in a lifetime event- something no one had seen, nor expected to see before. But here she was, brushing past people and paying little to no mind to them, speaking to the odd mismatched male she was walking with. Admittedly, Mill liked all of the attention. She loved the jealousy the others had chiseled into their faces- especially the females that looked onto the male.
With a gentle flick of her tail, Mill gripped onto the male and pulled him into her frame, bringing her arms up to clutch onto his. People were watching, and she wanted to ground it into them all that he was hers, and nobody else could have him. It filled her with such pride and joy that she couldn't keep the smirk off her face, and held her head up higher. Her step was a bounce that radiated her happiness. Of course, that was until she remembered just what they were doing and where they were headed.
"Oh... yes. He's always home." She said and rolled her wrist, still remaining close to him as they walked. "He doesn't really go anywhere anyways unless he comes to visit me at work." She said and rubbed her face, getting less and less enthusiastic about the idea the closer they came to the home, and within minutes, they found themselves on the doorstep of a large home.

Gemini only chuckled as she flaunted herself in front of everyone, making sure to make them jealous or glare at them. He didn't mind the attention. As long as she was happy- And if that smile slapped on her face was anything to judge by, she was very happy- then he would just about do anything for her.
The male frowned, his ears flicking, "Sounds like he lives a very exciting life. Honestly I would have thought him the type to go out frequently... Like you, I guess," he mused as they stepped up to the front door and Mill knocked.
(sorry its short lol)

Mill rolled her eyes and sighed, raising a finger to press the small button to ring the doorbell; giving a minute before a tall man with long blonde hair to answer the door. He was nearly identical looking to Mill, but appeared much older, and had long spines above his eyes. "Mill?" He asked, a small smile on his face as he opened his arms to her.
The woman ran forward and flung herself into his arms, giving him a tight hug. "Hello Sunny." She said and buried her face into his chest, the familiar scent making her feel comfortable. She and the male were obviously incredibly close. Her father? No... that couldn't be. They looked near identical, and this man was much too young to be her father. Though her definitely gave off the royal appearance one would expect Mill's family to be like. In fact, everything about him screamed regal.
He let go of Mill and narrowed his eyes at the odd looking male she drug with her. "Mill who's this?" He asked and watched her cling to the other. Mill chuckled softly and looked to Sunbird. "This is Gemini. Gemini, this is my brother, Sunbird."

Gemini blinked at the resemblance the two held. Aside from their hair color, they looked almost exactly the same. Gemini nodded and smiled in a friendly manner, extending his mismatched hand out to him, "Gemini. It's nice to meet you, Sunbird. I almost forgot that Mill had any siblings," he chuckled, wrapping one arm around Mill as he brought her close. He was obviously making a statement about what he was to her, which seemed to irritate the other male further, making Gemini's smile widen. Over protective brother? How fun...
As they were invited inside, Gemini leaned down to press a soft kiss to Mill's cheek before he took her coat to hang it on a nearby rack, then took off his own before following the woman to the living room of the home. It was quite spacious, with decor one might find in a fancy hotel, or resort. The place looked just as regal as the whole damn family, and Gemini couldn't help but chuckle softly to himself. It was too perfect, really.

Mill walked with Gemini, keeping an eye on Sunbird- who seemed to fume and become more and more agitated with every little thing Gemini did to her. Any time he'd nudge her, kiss her, or just say something sweet, she could feel the scowl coming off of her older brother. Then again, it was to be expected. She and Sunny had been very close ever since they were little ones, and as they grew older and the boys began to chase his little sister, Sunbird had to learn to be protective and keep Mill out of trouble. It was always for her own good, though.
The female seemed rather amused but didn't press any more than Gemini already was. Sunbird simply poured a couple glasses of wine like he knew she would want, and handed one to her in a manner oh-so-graceful. "here you are." He practically sang and gave her a smile before sitting down. "Did you come to see dad?" He asked and took a sip of his drink, motioning her to sit down in her chair- which just so happened to be the biggest, fanciest chair in the home. It was always Mill's throne. Not even her father would dare sit in that seat, whether she was there or not. She was the princess regardless; and she happily sat herself down, taking a sip of her wine and savoring the rich flavors.
"Yes, we did come to see dad. Where is he hiding?" She asked before a loud crash from the kitchen had both kids jolting their heads to look in that one particular direction. It was almost funny to see. They both moved and spoke alike. It was like watching someone in a mirror.
From the direction both Mill and Sunbird were looking, a massive male stepped from the kitchen, a small patch of his beard smoldering, his skin blackened, and a big smile upon his face. It was like looking at an elephant in a ballroom. He was possibly the most out of place looking man, wandering around in a pair of completely faded black work pants, carrying around a tray of burnt... well, some kind of food, and a rag he used to wipe his face before noting that his beard was kinda on fire. Both Mill and Sunbird sighed and rolled their eyes, looking away in pure embarrassment. This only prompted the big man to set his things aside and run over to them.
"My little Princess!" HE called out and plucked her from her chair to hug her tightly to his chest. "It's been so long since I saw your pretty little butt in that chair." HE chuckled and rubbed her cheeks, pressing kisses to the top of her head and setting her down. Mill blushed and rubbed her face. "Daaad.." She whined, knowing Sunbird was smirking at her. Truthfully, he was just happy to see her, and he knew their father had missed her as well. Much of his time was spent talking about his little princess, and how he wanted to get her out of her horrible job so she could come home and stay there like she used to when she was a kid.

As the large man walked in, he... Well, he wasn't sure what he was expecting, but it definitely wasn't that. He had been expecting a regal, dignified man, like Mill spoke of. Or perhaps he had misunderstood. In any case, he chuckled as Mill complained about his hugging and rubbing and doting. He could definitely tell why Mill had the personality she did. The man treated her like a Princess, and so she in turn became one. He was glad that she was treated well here.
All in all, despite first impressions, the man was kind and quite funny- at least to Gemini. He introduced himself politely, making sure to shake the large Kolthers hand and compliment on what a fine job he had done raising his kids.

King smirked and sat down, but only once Mill had given him the okay, and sat down with him in that chair of hers. "So, Gemini, huh?" He asked and wrapped an arm around his daughter, wanting to spend as much time with her as possible- because he knew she wouldn't stay here forever. But he didn't want to think about that right now. He had her here, and she'd brought a nice man with her.
"So, you gotta tell me, are you her boyfriend?" He asked, earning a whine from his daughter. There was his answer right there, but in any case, the odd looking male nodded and Mill's father beamed with joy. "I had a feeling you might be." He said and scratched at his beard. "I knew she liked the boys with the long hair." He teased him and laughed. "As long as my princess is good and spoiled, then I think you're good." He stated and nodded his approval of the two being a couple. Then again, he had always wanted Mill to have a good man in her life. She wouldn't be a princess forever, and needed a king to be a queen.

Gemini ran a hand through his hair, "So it was the long hair, hmm?" he asked, shooting a wink at Mill as he made himself comfortable on a nearby couch. The atmosphere in the room was relaxed, and Gemini couldn't have been more happy about that fact. He wasn't a shy man by any means, but it certainly made meeting her father much easier and comfortable this way.
"Trust me, your daughter only gets the finest treatments when she's with me. That's why I took her away from that Hardware store she worked in. I could tell from the moment I first laid eyes on her that she didn't deserve to be in such a place," he smiled at the memory of their first meeting. He had gotten such a lucky break that day.

Mill huffed and stuck out her lower lip, but smiled in an almost sly like manner to him. "I never said I didn't like other things." She said softly and curled her knees to her chest. "But I do love the way your hair looks when it blows around in the wind, or when you walk." She blushed and put a hand up to run through her hair. Honestly, she seemed to have a more child-like demeanor when she was at home with her father and brother. The two catered to every one of her wants and needs, and in turn, she had become dependent on them, resulting in a more childish attitude. The way she spoke, and how she was acting or moving about. She was quite happy, though.
King smirked and gave Mill another hug. "Looks like you found yourself a good man, princess." He said, his tone filled with joy; but there was a hint of sadness in his voice. He didn't like that his little girl was all grown up and needed another man to take care of her. "But don't you forget ol' King Dad is still here to spoil his little princess rotten." He chuckled and rubbed her head. It looked almost comical with how big the man was compared to his daughter.
"I know daddy." She muttered and leaned into his arm. "How about we go out for lunch. Gemini and I can treat you to a good meal." She said, knowing her dad's love for food would make him happy. Sure enough, the big man beamed and nodded. "Of course! I'd love to go out with you two." He smiled and looked to Gemini. "Are you sure it's okay?" He asked and then looked to Sunbird, who looked pitifully at his father, knowing he'd be dragged with the family to go get lunch. It's not that he didn't want to... he just wanted to stay away from the outsider who got all touchy-feely with his little sister.

Gemini chuckled and nodded "Of course. We had been planning to take you out from the start. I know a nice place not too far away from your home, in fact. They make some interesting human food. It's run entirely by humans, and it's quite popular," he offered, standing up and extending his hand to Mill to help her up as well. He was excited to get to know King as a person, he seemed much more relaxed than Gemini thought. An easy guy to get along with.
Gemini helped Mill back into her coat before he put on his own and waited for King to get ready. Once everyone was situated, he opened the door to let the small group of Koltherians out and then shut the door behind him, listening for the automatic lock on the door. An old habit from his last job.
Gemini smiled widely as they made their way down the street, keeping one arm wrapped around Mill as he held her close, "So King, what do you like to do in your spare time?" he asked, wanting to get to know the man a bit more now that they were comfortable with each other. The large Koltherian never got the chance to answer, though. There was a small noise, and Gemini felt Mill jerk slightly as something plowed into her legs, letting out a muffled "Momma!" much to her and his confusion.
Where did this child come from?

Mill blinked as something smashed into her leg. She could feel hands gripping her pants tightly, and small wet spots soaking through them. She looked down and saw a small child with bright red curls atop his head. Who... Who was this child? Where did he come from? She looked around in hopes of finding someone who was looking for him, like a parent or a guardian of some kind, but no one came. Not that anyone would have gotten the chance to come get the kid anyways, because the very second the word 'momma' had escaped the child's lips King felt his heart nearly stop, and his smile grew ten miles wide.
"You guys had a baby and didn't tell me!?" He asked and picked up the small child despite obvious protest at first. He seemed to want Mill, and to not be separated from her at all costs. "My word you're a cute little one." He said and gave the kid plenty of hugs and nuzzles before Mill had snatched him away. "Dad... no. We didn't have a kid." she said and held the boy in her arms. "I don't know who this is." She said and looked to the boy. He was scared, and dirty. He looked like he had been crying for a while. Mill picked at the adult-sized sweater he had wrapped around himself and grimaced. "What's your name? Where are your parents?" She asked him, her voice turning soft- something she had never done before.

Gemini was just as confused as Mill, if not more so. Who would leave a child unattended... Especially one like this little lad? He almost looked abandoned the way he was dressed and dirtied up. The tall Male looked to his mate and frowned, "Perhaps we should look for his parents?" he asked. The child wailed and clung to Mill as if she was his very breath, "Momma!!" he whimpered, his ruby eyes turning up to her, full of tears and confusion. After a moment, it seemed to dawn on the child that this person wasn't his mother, and he cried harder, curling himself into the tightest ball he could manage as he clung to Mill.
Gemini looked around, though no one seemed to be frantically looking for a child. No one even seemed concerned other than a few passerby's who stared at the crying boy before moving on. Was he lost? Surely no one would dump the boy and leave him? Children were cherished and praised on Aivos, "Perhaps we should take him home and get him cleaned up. I'll call a few friends and see if anyone has filed for a missing child," he murmured, reaching out to rub the boy's matted hair.

Both Mill and King Dad's ears went limp, but Mill was especially surprising, as the woman really did have little to no care for any other being but herself- yet here she was holding a little boy in her arms, her face completely twisted into a look of worry. Her father turned his head to look at her, but all of the female's attention remained on the little boy. With a bit of hesitation, she quietly brought him close to her chest and held him in a gentle hug. Her father's ears perked up as he watched, and a smile came over his face.
Mill, however, was still only focused on the sobbing child. "It's alright." She said, her voice almost completely different than normal without the usual bite in her words. "I promise." She said and smiled. "What's your name?"

The boy looked up again, his little chest heaving as he sniffled and hiccuped, "Cir-Circuit," he muttered, rubbing his eyes and settling against her, "Momma and P-poppa are gone... I d-don't wanna go back to the orphanage," he sniffled. Fat tears spilled down his cheeks once again at the very thought of going back there. He didn't /like/ it there! He hated it. All the kids were too loud, and pushy and kept bugging him. He just wanted to be left alone somewhere quiet. But he didn't want people to go away! He missed his momma and his poppa. He didn't understand why they left him.
Gemini frowned with worry, "An orphanage?" he mused. It was so rare to hear about kids being put up for adoption unless the parents did not have a licence to have the child in the first place. But this kid made it sound like his parents just disappeared one day. The male sighed and ran a hand through his hair, trying to think of what to do, "We could always take him back to the orphanage. I know of one a few miles away, I can't imagine he ran any further than that," he murmured to the female.
