(Sorry if this is too long, just making an attempt at setting the scene.)
It was a calm evening on Aivos, for now. The sun hung low in the sky, casting long shadows across the ground. A cool breeze filtered through a non-uniformed line of at least fifty bodies, but there was one Koltherian who fidgeted somewhere in between, eavesdropping casually on the babbling conversations going on all around him; "It's almost time, what's the deal? -- Yo, I heard this place sells the best booze for miles -- I just wanna get wasted and dance already." He smiled to himself, holding back a witty remark which had become an almost second nature in his life as a comedian, as he waited for entrance to 'Corna Club' what he'd been told was one of the less sleazy clubs in the vibrant city of Metasone.
Hazmat sighed, his train of thought and his amber gaze drifted elsewhere as he admired the setting sun. He reached for his camera - eternally dangling from his neck - without taking his eyes away from the skyline, he took a picture in an attempt to capture the moment, as if the beauty would vanish at the blink of his eyes. He was satisfied with how it came out, but he wouldn't share this with his fans, not tonight. ... Tonight he wanted to stay under the radar, he was here for one reason only. He wore a soft navy jacket which hid the bright yellow markings on his back which were a dead giveaway, but he kept the front unzipped which showed nothing revealing, if you didn't count his dark bare chest and abs that is... The main precaution was the hood he'd pulled up to masque his unruly ginger hair and shadow a face that many Koltherians would easily recognize from their computer screens.
The line was moving agonizingly slow, the thump of techno music growing louder was the only indicator of progress. Hazmat pulled his arms tight around his waist, bouncing on the balls of his feet impatiently; conflicting thoughts on whether he should just wait, or claim as a VIP and cut the queue. It was tempting, but no, he had to blend in, he was on an 'undercover mission' of sorts. 'Now Haz, you can't afford to get distracted,' he repeated in his head like a mantra. It was important not to lose focus, to not let his mind lose track like it usually does. Suddenly the line jerked forward, throwing him out of his thoughts. A few relieved cheers echoed like a wave down the queue, and Haz joined in. He shuffled along with the flow of people through the door, pulling his hood back down and shooting a grin at the bouncer who did a double take, but said nothing.
Once inside, a hot gust of air hit him and he shivered as it thawed his chilled skin. He squinted, his eyes trying to adjust between the extremes of dimness and flashing strobe lights. The room was big, and filling up fast; most people were in their human and anthro forms, and it only made sense so everybody could fit in without having to play a game of skip-rope over large feral Kolther tails... He felt eyes on him as he quickly slipped across the empty dance floor, the catchy bass rhythm vibrating the floor and tickling his feet. Choosing to head up onto the balcony above and perch on one of the bar stools in a cozy-looking corner nearby the bar, he made sure to reserve a spare seat for his guest by kicking his feet up onto it. Looking around him at people still pouring in, his gut clenched at the reality of why he was here; Minnow, she was probably somewhere in the crowd outside. She'd messaged him that morning, and told him to meet her at this exact club. He checked his phone, reviewing the private messages sent between them for the tenth time, just in case she said something he could've missed, but there never was. Hazmat wasn't the type to say no to anyone, in fact he'd jumped at the idea the minute he saw her profile picture; she was extremely pretty.
Speaking of how good-looking she was reminded Hazmat of his own appearance, and he frustratingly reached up to comb fingers through his wavy hair until he made it look half-decent. Once he was satisfied, he then lay back against the wall in an attempt to relax, trying to keep a keen eye on both his phone and on the floor below. The lighting was weird in the club, and made everyone's brighter colours seem to glow. Hazmat found it quite pretty seeing everyone's colours dancing about below like a light show, almost dreamy, until he came to the realization that he probably looked like a living traffic cone right about now, but I guess on the plus side, it will make it easier for Minnow to find him? He chuckled, shaking his head.

Minnow walked along the sidewalk with a refined grace, looking almost a bit bored as she looked over the other koltherians around her. Normally she would be scanning the crowd for a good looking male to buy her drinks for the night, but tonight was different. She was here to meet up with someone, a male who's blog she had been following for quite some time. He was rather well known, but so was she. She had spent her career climbing the ranks in fashion, even modeled her own lines of clothing on occasion. She could feel eyes following her every movement as she made it to the front of the line and headed inside, her head held high with a small smirk playing at her lips.
The first thing that hit Min was the wall of warm humid air, smelling of sweat and booze. The green and blue markings on her body glowed under the black light as she wove through the crowd, looking around and frowning a bit when she couldn't see Hazmat from where she was. She glanced at her phone, sighing when she didn't see any new messages. Minnow held her head high and made her way over to the bar, ordering a drink for herself and sipping at it, leaning back against the counter and looking around the place, her fingers running through her long hair as she looked up at the balcony level. Ahah... there he was. She watched him for a moment, noticing that he hadn't spotted her yet. His face occasionally lit up when he would look down, signifying that he was looking at his phone. He was waiting for her.
Minnow took another sip of her drink before finding her way upstairs, smiling when Hazmat noticed her. "Hey there, I was worried that you might not have shown up." She said as she slid herself onto the stool next to him, the end of her tail curling so it didn't touch the floor. Min casually extended her hand to him. "Minnow." She looked Haz over, blushing a little at the fact that he didn't have shirt on under his jacket, but she had to admit that she didn't mind the view either. Nor could she really judge when she was wearing a floral printed crop top and a tight pair of short black denim shorts.

Hazmat saw someone in his peripheral vision, and was surprised when his feet were brushed aside from the bar stool. He looked up, and a grin of relief overtook him at the sight of Minnow sitting across from him.
"I could say the same for you," He started, but his mind went blank and his expression soon turned flustered as she leaned over, holding her hand in greeting. He got an un-obstructed view down her floaty lace pink crop top, and he blinked hard, cheeks heating up. "H-Hazmat," he stammered mind numbed, hand shaking slightly, only steadying as it embraced hers. He forced his gaze from her body to her pale face; ice white hair tied up at the back, with the curled strands falling over and framing those striking neon green eyes of hers which shone in the darkness. His thoughts turned to doubts... 'Is this some sort of set-up, this can't be real right? She straight up personifies my favourite colours!' He wanted to compliment her, but then it would be obvious he was staring. He sat there dumbfounded, his mouth open slightly as if he was going to say something. He settled for closing his eyes for a second, secretly pinching himself under the table.
"It's a pleasure, Minnow." He spoke with greater confidence this time, taking a deep breath and clearing his throat. He leaned forward, his elbows on the table; Upon further inspection Minnow had a much greater air of confidence than him and she exuded a womanly independence, and that certain unknown look in her eye as she looked him over, almost a mischievous streak, well it got Hazmat very interested. He noticed that she already taken care of herself and had a drink in hand, and he shook his head. "Couldn't wait for me, huh?" He teased, feeling silly sitting there without a drink. He stood up to walk the few meters to the balcony bar, "Y'know, sitting this close to the bar is dangerous... even if we get comatose, we can still crawl the distance and order more." He chuckled, shooting a look back at her, "So what's your poison?"

Minnow's expression softened a bit when Hazmat stammered, looking straight back into his amber eyes as he looked into hers, giving him a sweet smile. It turned back into a smirk when he asked about her not waiting for him, chuckling at his comment about sitting too close to the bar. "Well I guess its a good thing I don't plan on sitting here all night." She leaned against the table and watched him go up to the bar, taking another sip of her drink. "Pineapple with a splash of vodka... pineapple is my favorite." Min smiled at him, her tail swinging with the music. He was very handsome, she could tell even in the strange lighting that he looked even more handsome in person. She got up and walked over to him, placing a hand on the bar counter.
"So, am I going to get to watch a video review about tonight later?" Minnow chuckled at him playfully, looking at the camera that rested against his chest. "I like watching you videos." She said almost a bit sheepishly. After following his vlog for a long time her sister had finally convinced her to reach out to Hazmat, so far she was glad that she did. Even though she looked calm, she was actually rather nervous about tonight, she didn't go on dates often.

"Pineapple double vodka it is!" He turned to the bartender, then stopped dead when he realized there could be a hidden innuendo reference. Instead of turning red, he turned to her, raising a brow. "Is that how it is?" He chuckled under his breath. "Well two can play at that game, Min." He'd picked up on her sweet scent before, it was unmistakable, and her swinging her tail around to the tune wasn't helping to hide it. "I'd absolutely love an... Apple Mojito!" He called to the bartender again, not taking his eye of Min as he drank her scent in. "Oh, and don't forget the fresh mint leaf garnish, that's the most important part." He returned her smirk.
He laughed loudly, "Maybe you can cameo... I'm curious to if and how you're going to make it a 5 star experience?" He lent back against the bar cockily until he saw her gaze was on his camera; he picked it up and peered through the viewfinder at her as she spoke the compliment. At her tone, he faltered, nobody had ever been that calm or simple when they said those words, and something about it struck a chord in his chest.
"Why thank-you, but for tonight, I shall be the one watching you." He chimed, his grin half-hidden behind the camera. He seemed to take the compliment with relative ease, but inside his heart kept doing back flips. Yes, Minnow is a fan, but I need to stop trying so hard, and just be myself. He scolded himself. There was a nagging part of his brain which was trying it's hard to impress her somehow, and he was trying his best to ignore it, his camera still aimed at her. "I see you, Min~" He warbled in a silly tone, his index finger coming down on the button, quickly capturing her perfection. "Oops, my bad, I slipped... You make a pretty picture though." He smiled sincerely, showing her the picture he'd shot on the LCD.
Taking the drinks which had just arrived, he carefully handed Minnow her pineapple drink, trying hard not to spill it. He then took a big swig of his own apple mojito, it was overwhelmingly sweet, and he still winced slightly as his taste buds honed in on the vodka for the first time this night.

Minnow blushed a bit when he mentioned playing at a game, realizing that the scent of pineapples wasn't only coming from her drink. She felt her heart flutter in her chest a little when he mentioned the mint leaf for his own drink. Her scent smelled mostly like apples, but was also hinted heavily with a mint like scent. Hazmat's next comment made her cheeks flush, wondering what he meant exactly about turning the night into a 5 star experience. She pushed those unlady-like thoughts away, she held herself to high standards, and that was exactly what he was going to get.
She couldn't help but laugh loudly when he came after her with his camera, talking to her in a silly voice. She couldn't help but notice how he called her Min, very few called her that except for a couple of friends and her sister. For some reason she didn't understand it made her smile, she enjoyed the little nickname, so she decided that she would be okay with him calling her that. Minnow looked in surprise when he took a picture of her, rolling her eyes at him a little. "Mmh, well I hope I would take a good picture, modeling would be difficult if I didn't!" She laughed again, nodding at the picture. In the photo she looked so much more relaxed than she normally probably would have. After taking a few sips she gently grabbed Hazmat's hand and pulled him away from the bar. "Come dance with me, I did say that I didn't plan on sitting all night." She spoke as she leaned closer to him, giving him a wink as the end of her tail curled around his before leading him downstairs, drink in her free hand.

Hazmat enjoyed seeing her laugh, and the sight left a smile set into his face as he took another swig of his drink. He hoped he wasn't being too forward with her, the last thing he wanted to do was make her think he was some sort of a pervert or something, no no, that's an entirely wrong assumption. He was just a regular Koltherian who had quickly grown very attached to his new friend.
He grinned at her eye-rolling gazing at the picture, "It's a keeper alright." He confirmed, locking the photo so it couldn't be deleted without a password, a strange familiarity about Minnow becoming clear. His eyes darted from the picture to the real her, "You know, it's just clicked. You're all over the magazines, and I was completely oblivious about it until now.... Ah, I'm so dumb, and I'm so sorry!" He flushed in complete embarrassment. He'd made it all about him, how could he forget something huge like that?! Grabbing her hand and stooping a little as if begging a queen's forgiveness, he rambled apologies... "I'm a fan, I- I mean I never followed fashion before, because, well, I'm terrible at it... I wish I could be like you." He started to admit, but before he could spew anymore, she pulled him to his feet and started dragging him off downstairs towards the dance floor.
He blushed when he felt her tail brush his, and reciprocated by curling the tip of his yellow appendage tighter around Minnow's green one.
"Okay, let's dance." He smirked. Normally he'd be way too embarrassed to dance with someone he cared about, even if he liked to make people laugh. Maybe it was the alcohol, or Minnow herself, that made him completely fine with the idea. "But be warned, I have four left feet!" He simpered, downing the rest of his drink and setting the empty glass down on a random table as he passed.
Approaching the floor, he spotted something which made him bounce on the spot in excitement, "Oh, oh, oh! Wait here!" He gently released her hand and wove in between the sweaty bodies. He returned seconds later, fighting through the crowd, he bounded up to her, glow stick jewelry of all colours dangled from his hands, mouth, neck and ears. "I got us these," he beamed, overcrowded with neon greens and blues. Gently looping a large luminous orange one around her neck, he looked her over. "There, you look perfect... now I definitely won't lose you!"

She quickly finished off her drink and placed it on a table as she lead Haz to the dance floor, the ground vibrating hard from the bass of the music. Minnow cocked her head to the side a little when Hazmat suddenly let go of her hand and rushed away into the crowd, giggling when he came back covered in glowing jewelry, smiling at him when he draped an orange glow necklace around her neck. "Gee, favorite drink and now favorite color? You are good." She smirked at him as she took his hand and held it to her hip, turning so she was facing the DJ. "Just follow my lead." She looked at him over her shoulder, glad that he was a bit taller so he was easy to see. Her hips swayed to the music, her eyes closing as she let the music flow through her. The pair stayed like that through a few songs, occasionally Min would turn back to face him, then eventually twirl around again so she was facing away, a hand constantly keeping his hand on her hip or side.
It didn't take long for the some of the other Koltherians to realize who Minnow and Hazmat were, quite a few were now staring. For once Min found that she didn't care whether others were watching her or not, right now there was only one that mattered. After a while she decided that another round of drinks would be in order. She turned and looked up at him, putting a hand on his side to get his attention. "I'm getting another drink, you want another?" She smirked when she got his answer, taking her leave from his side and went up to the bar to order. A movement out of the corner of her eye caught her attention as she waited, her expression remained neutral when a stranger male approached her.
"Hey honey, what's a girl like you doing in a place like this? Let me buy you a drink." He smirked and leaned closer to her. Her nose crickled as she shied away from him, he smelled strongly of alcohol, clearly he had already had too much.
"No thanks, I'm here with someone." Minnow said a bit harshly, baring her teeth a little so he took the hint.

"Hey, I'm on a roll!" Hazmat beamed at her comment. He felt his cheeks tint again as Minnow guided his hand to her hip, he almost pulled away out of respect, but she seemed certain of what she was doing. He nodded as she began to sway against him, and at first he didn't know how to reciprocate, but he soon got the hang of it. Hazmat's hips followed hers as he pressed his body gingerly against her, he would sometimes twine his free hand with hers and sway their arms in the air, and allow her to twirl her lithe body into his arms. He couldn't help the constant grin he wore as their bodies twisted in dance, like they just didn't care for anything but this moment... and it felt like the most natural thing in the world. Hazmat didn't know an awful lot about music, but he noticed one of the last few songs was quite slow for the genre; it called for Hazmat to automatically shut his eyes whilst the pair danced, in an almost meditative state, and he nuzzled down into the crook of Minnow's neck and her soft hair... They stayed like this for a while, and he lost track of time and was a little disappointed when they finally pulled apart, like a child being dragged out of a soft comfy bed early on a weekend morn. Minnow instilled an unbelievable sense of calmness into Hazmat, and he was still in a trance as he watched her stride off to the bar.
That was, until he noticed a stranger which seemed to be hounding Minnow, snapping Haz out of it. He skipped over to quickly interject. "She's with me," Hazmat reeled Minnow in with protective arms, tucking her against his chest and away from the strange male. "And this lady is already being paid for, thanks." He assured, smiling at her and reaching for his wallet, thinking that was the end of it. But he was wrong.
"Oh, I know you." The male slurred, blundering closer to him. Haz caught a whiff of him and sniffed hard, he smelt like he'd just drowned in a brewery and come back as a ghost which was now intent on haunting his woman. "You're that kid who makes videos all alone in his bedroom!" The kolther jeered, finding himself hilarious. His words struck a nerve in Hazmat, he scowled, ears twitching and jaw tensing. "Yeah, and who are you? Oh right, I wouldn't know because well, you're nothing important." He growled coldly, the cocky words coming out of his mouth surprising him.
"Don't get smart with me pal, who do you think you are?!" The stranger squared up to him, and though smaller in comparison, Hazmat proved way feistier.
"I'm not your pal, that's for sure. Now back off!" He yelled over the music, standing protectively before Minnow and taking a step forward, his teeth bared in outrage. He didn't know what he was doing, he wasn't the type to run his mouth, he wasn't a fighter or one to get involved in the ridiculous power struggles that go on between males, but he knew one thing; nobody was getting in between him and Min.
The male wobbled where he stood, glancing between the pair, then eventually turned to Minnow again, shooting her a sordid smile. "Take it from me babe, he's just a little boy playing pretend with his new camera... Hang with me, if you want to know what a real man is."

Minnow blushed hard when Hazmat appeared and pulled her against his chest protectively, smiling back at him gratefully when he smiled down at her. Her lips curled back into a snarl when the stranger suddenly teased her friend about what he did. How dare he? Some random drunk nobody having the audacity to make fun of someone who made a living out of doing something that he loves! She was about to say something, but Hazmat was already ahead of her, standing in front of her to put some distance between her and the aggressor.
The stranger's comment at her was the last straw though, her face suddenly contorting in anger as she changed from her human form to her half form so she stood a bit taller. She stepped up to the male, practically seeing red as she jabbed a finger at his chest. "Now you listen here! Hazmat is a thousand times the man that you could ever even dream of being! At least he can treat a woman with some respect!" Minnow snarled and huffed, her piercing green eyes glowing ferociously.
"Fine, whatever. Don't want your stuck up ass anyways." The male growled before stumbling back a few steps. It was then a very large male appeared, his black crew neck decorated with the word SECURITY in big white letters.
"Alright buddy, I think its time you go home." He carefully directed the drunken male away. "Drinks are on the house tonight guys, enjoy the rest of your night." He said over his shoulder before shoving the male more forcefully towards the door.
Minnow let out a hard sigh and forced herself to relax, going back to her human form and pressing her forehead against Hazmat's chest, feeling frazzled. Normally other kolthers weren't so aggressive and would back off when she didn't show interest, she wasn't used to having encounters like this. "Thank you Haz, I'm sorry you had to deal with that." Min wrapped her arms around his waist and nuzzled her cheek against him. She stayed like that until her nerves settled more before she released him. "Okay, now I really need that drink!" She couldn't help but chuckle, a few strands of white hair falling into her face.

Hazmat gawked at Minnow as she shifted forms, practically tearing the stranger a new one with her words. Hazmat grinned at her compliments about him, but even though he stood a little emotionally taller, he still felt kind of ridiculous, his lips pinned into a human snarl - which probably wasn't as intimidating as he hoped - and couldn't help feel that he should have been able to better stand up for her. Thankfully, before anything could escalate, the security showed up and took control of the situation. Hazmat was glad that the guard knew who was the cause of the trouble, as he ushered the male out and gave them a free token to compensate.
"No, I'm fine, don't worry about it." He said gently as he embraced Minnow, feeling a little sadness filling his chest. "It's that asshole's problem, not ours. You're beautiful, so I can only expect you to get attention from others. But don't worry, I'm nothing like him when I'm drunk." He said genuinely, hugging Minnow tighter as she sank into his arms. He gently stroked her hair and the back of her neck, almost like a massage as it calmed them both. He sighed. "Well we got free drinks out of it, at least there's that?" He half-smiled at her, leaning over to order just that. Two of the same drinks; because he knew she loved pineapple, and he didn't want things to change, in any way. He didn't settle much, he hoped she didn't notice him shaking with anger and nerves. He kept an arm around her waist in hope that she felt safer, and to show others that they were together, and ensure there wouldn't be a repeat "misunderstanding." He didn't know if he could hold his composure if the incident happened a second time. The whole situation had made him realize his feelings for Minnow, and brought his shyness out again.
"So, Min ..." He started, trying to change the subject. "Is there anywhere you want to go tonight, anything you want to do when we kick this joint?"

Minnow blushed hard when Hazmat called her beautiful. Sure, she had heard that be said thousands of times before, but somehow when he said it her heart fluttered. She smiled and nodded when he mentioned how he wasn't like that when he was drunk, almost giggling at the comment. She smiled and nodded her head as she took her drink from the counter and sipped at it, enjoying the rich sweet and tart taste of pineapple which hid the taste of alcohol well enough that she would stand it. She was never really one for the taste of it. Leaning into him as he kept his arm around her waist she felt rather content, swaying lightly to the music and wrapping her tail around his once more.
Min thought about Hazmat's question for a moment, she hadn't really thought that far ahead. She didn't really expect the night to go as well as it had, she figured that she would probably have gone home. But she didn't want to go home, she wanted to spend more time with him. "Well... Metasone is known for some of its amusement parks." Minnow grinned, pleased with her idea, figuring that it would be something that Hazmat would probably have fun doing.

Hazmat was busy sipping his drink when the glorious idea came out of Minnow's mouth, and it only made him like her even more.
"Amusement parks?!" Hazmat burst out happily, almost choking on his drink before quickly clasping his hands over his mouth. He blushed hard, "S-Sorry, I mean, I've just heard so much about them. They sound soo amazing~ but I've never had the chance to visit before." He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck nervously, glancing up through one of the skylights on the roof. The sky was growing dark now, it was hard to see through the glass which reflected only the birds eye image of Minnow and Hazmat cuddled together. "It's not too late to go is it?" He questioned, gently placing his hands on her shoulders and looking for her change of expression hopefully like a child asking permission. "Will you take me, Min?"

Minnow bit her lip a little to suppress a chuckle, Hazmat's almost child like reaction giving her new energy. "Not at all. In fact the best time to go is when its dark~" She took his hand and gently pulled away from him, leading him to the exit. She wouldn't have minded staying a bit longer to dance some more, but the male from earlier really killed her mood for it. Fresh air would probably help her feel better, and the thought of Haz's reaction to a fully lit up amusement park was too much to resist.
Even after the sun had set Metasone was still as busy as ever, there was always something to do in the city. It wasn't long before flashing lights and music could be seen and heard in the distance; as well as the smell of different cart food wafting down the sidewalk. Minnow could feel herself becoming giddy with excitement, one of her favorite things was roller coasters. "Hey, have you even been on a roller coaster?" She looked at him almost a little sheepishly, but a grin cracking across her face. "They're a lot of fun! Ride one with me?"
