Glacier Reveals a Big SurpriseCharacters in play
Glacier; Chimera; PlutoniumSetting
Plutonium is still rather new to the family, having accept them as his parent after convinced about his previous has passed away. Plutonium only know Glacier, he has never met or seen or heard of Chimera, Glacier's mate. So how would both Chimera and Plutonium react first time meeting? Who knows. Plutonium was pouting, being fussy over his food, he didn't like his vegetables, they taste weird and gross. He pushes the plate aside before hopping off of the chair and scrambles out of the area before Glacier notice he was gone. He was a troublesome child. He went back to looking at the animals, cooing lightly at them and grabbing a rat like animal and held onto his hand. Petting the small rat creature that seems to enjoy the petting and smiles. Putting it back in it's cage and smiles, he likes it here, he was fascinated by the animals and pets here. Though one particular pet was humans...they were strange, they look like them in human forms but without a tail and short ears and no markings on them what so ever. One of them seems to be very grumpy and crouchy from it's cage, shouting at him to let him out. He tilts his head before getting up, he doesn't get near those or look at them much, they were mean little fellas. |

Glacier had been preparing a meal of his own when Pluto had scuttled from his chair and across the room to play with one of the rats and observe the humans. However when the koltherian noticed he was gone, he huffed in annoyance.
"Plu, stop playing and come eat please. You need to eat your vegetables to get big." He picked up the plate of veggies and a little bowl as he walked over, holding the plate out for Plu to take as he picked out some food from the bowl before placing the small china into the human's cage for her to eat.
"You're worse than that damned Flutter about picky eating." He snorted, picking up one of the greens and munching on it before offering it to the smaller boy. What Glacier wasn't aware of, was the fact that his mate had been wondering where he'd gone off to. Sure, Glacier lived in the same little shop that he sold his animals out of, but if he had to stay the night for an emergency, he would have called Chimera to cancel their date. He hadn't seen Glacier in about a month, and now that he'd missed one of their planned dates, the chimera colored kolth was sure to be angry and storming over to see where the hell his mate was at!
[Little bit of info: Chi and Glacier don't live together quite yet. They're new mates and still kinda doing cute dating and courting before they get married or anything xD]

Chimera huffed as he walked hurriedly down the street, trying to remember the fastest route to his mate's house and petshop. They were supposed to have met the night before for a date, but Glacier never showed up and didn't call him. They didn't get to see each other incredibly often, the strangely marked koltherian lived all the way over in Vondale, which was quite far from his blue mate's home in Metasone. He spent the past day traveling, worried sick that something bad might have happened. He rounded a corner where Glacier's pet shop came into view, Chimera visibly relaxing for a moment as he entered through the door.
"Hey, you forget about something?" Chimera asked as he went up to the slightly taller male, frowning but with an amused twinkle in his eye. It was hard for him to be mad at Glacier, and now seeing that things were okay he had relaxed. It wasn't until then that he noticed the small child that his mate was giving some greens to. He glanced around the store, it was empty except for them. Looking down at the child he tilted his head slightly. He had never seen this kid before. "Glacier, who's kid is this?"

Glacier felt his spines shiver nervously as he heard the little ting of the bell followed by a familiar voice.
"H-hey. Oh my gosh what day is it?!" He glanced worriedly to his watch. "Shoot I forgot...I'm so sorry..." Glacier stood up, trying to keep Plu behind him. But he'd already been spotted. Whoops. Glacier bit his lip, looking back to the little boy that stood behind him before reaching down to pat his hair.
"Can you finish feeding the rats for me buddy? This is one of my friends, I'll be right back." He rubbed his fingers through his hair a bit before walking over to Chimera, reaching out to lightly grab his shoulders and smile at him.
"Can I talk to you for a minute?"

Why did Chimera have a strange, sinking feeling? He glanced between the child and Glacier, then back again before making a concerned face at his mate. Was this Glacier's kid? Did he always have a kid? Was he afraid Chimera wouldn't like him if he had a kid? Questions buzzed in his head. His attention snapped back to reality when Glacier put his hands on his shoulders and smiled at him. He gave a worried smile in return, trying to relax and not jump to conclusions. Maybe he was just baby sitting for a friend or something. "Y-yeah, okay."

Glacier nodded gently before leading Chimera off into the kitchen. He looked back to his mate once they arrived in this new room, clearing his throat and rubbing the back of his head.
"Er...so that's Plutonium. I found him last week on his own and I had to do something. You know how I get when I find something on the side of the road." He gave a light chuckle, but he could see Chimera didn't seem amused. "I did some research. Both of his parents died a little while ago. His house was evicted and being deconstructed while he was living in the basement. He doesn't have anyone else." Glacier peered over to where he could see Plutonium in the other room.
"I thought he'd be happier here than being shipped off to an orphanage or...worse..."

Plutonium whines at Glacier and pouts. "I don't want any of it. They are gross." He said making a face and sticking his tongue out a little bit. He hates vegetables, he wasn't fond of them. Well he was young and stubborn. His ears twitches a little bit. "I ate all of my other food, pweaseee? I want to play with the pets and feed them." He said with a puppy eye look on his face. His ears pushed down and eyes wide, making his eyes water to try to get him to fall for it and get him not to eat the veggies. His tail flicked against the ground a little bit.
He looks up and jumps to hear a voice, looking up to a weird looking fella. Tilting his head, whoa...he looked weird....like he wasn't symmetrical at all. His ears went down, mix of curiosity and fear went through him. Is that a Kolth? He has no idea, he never seen anyone looking like that. He hid behind Glacier and frowns a little bit, worried. He felt his hair patted and asked to go feed the rats. Pouting. "Okay." He said before moving to get the feed from the back and grabbing the bag and drags it half way before opening the cage and coos at the rats before getting small handful and put it into the bowls before watching the rats go for the food and eat them. He smiles. "So cute." He smiles, feeding the other rats before putting the bag up and washing his hands. Unaware of what Glacier and Chimera are talking about.

Chimera let Glacier lead him to the kitchen, frowning and sighing. "You've had him for a week and you didn't even call me? I know we are just dating but... isn't this something you should get your boyfriend's opinion on?" He huffed a bit in annoyance. He looked back out of the kitchen, catching sight of the young kolth playing with an animal. He sighed and squeezed the bridge of his nose, turning back to Glacier. "What are you going to do? It's not easy to adopt a kid, and its a lot of money... But it is better than an orphanage. I would know." He wasn't happy that Glacier hadn't told him about Plutonium, especially if he had known the child for a whole week. But he couldn't help but soften at the fact that he hadn't wanted the child to end up in an orphanage, since he had spent his entire childhood in one himself.

"Slipped my mind. I'm so sorry. I spent the time doing research on what I needed to do to get a permit. I guess I didn't want to tell you before I got permission to be his care taker. But you're right I should have told you..." He rubbed the back of his neck a little bit, blue eyes looking down at his feet as his tail curled next to them on the floor. "I guess I got distracted...or maybe just worried you'd be upset. I've never really asked if you wanted to be parents or anything...gosh it's like the snake all over again." Glacier groaned and hid his face in his hands in embarrassment.
There was a loud caw and the flutter of wings as a large, pink bird perched on top of the rat cage, peering down at Plutonium and cooing at him softly as she wriggled her tail feathers.
[The snake incident- Glacier probably set up a huge snake terrarium in Chimera's house without asking him and bought him a giant pet snake as a present. Don't imagine that went over too well]

Plutonium jumped a little at the bird that landed on top of a rat cage and looks at the pink bird before tilting his head a little bit. "Oh pwetty burd!" He said in a child like manner and reaches up and pets him on the head gently, feeling the soft smooth feathers. He smiles lightly before wondering what Glacier is talking about, being curious child as he is. He moves to where Glacier is, trying to be sneaky before jumping up and leaps up, trying to cling onto his tail. "Wat ya talking about?" He asked with a toothy grin on his face, his ears perked. He was a bit optimistic, trying to climb on Glacier's arm. Well he was always known to be a trouble some child that tend to use Glacier a monkey gym. Well he was a child after all.

Chimera shook his head and rolled his eyes, smiling a bit at his embarrassment. He was about to lean over to kiss his forehead when suddenly the child appeared again, trying to climb up Glacier. He watched Plutonium with an amused expression, although he was having mixed feelings inside. Usually Koltherians talked a lot with their partner about adopting before going through with the process, and now it seemed as if becoming a father was being thrust upon him. He never had parents, and worried if he was ready for such a thing. But he couldn't help smiling as he watched Pluto and Glacier, realizing that if he was going to be a dad there wasn't anyone else he would want to do it with. "Well, I don't know about this being quite like the snake incident, but I think its about time you introduce me Glace."

Glacier yipped a bit as Pluto climbed up him, being pulled out of his thoughts as he raised his arm to help balance Plutonium on his hip.
"Just talking about how you won't eat your greens!" Glacier snorted to the child, looking to his mate with a small smile as he wasn't angry with his little mistake.
"Plutonium, this is Chimera. Chimera, Pluto." He introduced the two. "He's very important to me and you should be seeing a lot more of him in the future."

Plutonium being held up by Glacier, looks up to him and grins a little bit before pouting. "Aww but greens are gross though. They taste like grass." He said, sticking his tongue a little bit. He had eaten grass before since he gotten pretty hungry and desperate, grass was disgusting, it was like weird green bitter flavor with slight moister. He shudders at the thought and made him stick his tongue out a little bit. "Chimera?" He tilts his head, the name was interesting. "Why does he look weird though? Did he paint himself? Did he drink radioactive stuff like in comic books?" He asked Glacier. Being a child, he was curious and wondering mind.

Chimera snorted in amusement, letting out a laugh. While adults pointing out his condition always bothered him, kids were too innocent in their questions. And Plutonium's reasonings for his looks were too silly for him to get mad at. "Well, I don't think its quite as cool as drinking radiation, but I am what my name is, a chimera. Its kinda like two different koltherians being smashed together... I'm one person, but I look like two mixed together." He grinned at the child, hoping he would kind of understand what he was talking about. "And you should eat your greens, its not good to waste food."

Glacier was about to scold Plutonium about pointing out Chimera's markings, but his mate didn't seem too phased by it and mused with the child about it. Glacier just sighed quietly.
"Well then, have you had anything to eat yet? We've got to finish making our rounds and making sure everyone's fed for the night. Then maybe someone will eat what I cooked." He huffed playfully, bouncing Pluto on his hip a bit before setting the boy down. He leaned in quick to capture a short kiss from his mate, smiling happily before he moved off to go finish feeding all of the pets in the shop.
