The morning was calm and quiet; the air was warm and heavy with the promise of rain. It wasn't too early, but nor was it too late- and from her sleep; a small human dressed in nothing more than a shirt, socks, and shorts woke to the atmosphere of this morning. She stretched and looked up and out of the windows of her home, and then down to the slumbering mass of husband next to her; which brought a soft smile to her face. She leaned over to press a kiss to his snout- that big dragon snout of his. Still; despite their differences, Mill was very much in love with her husband- among other much smaller pieces of their family.
A soft sound could be heard from the room just beyond the wall, which caught the woman's attention. She chuckled as the sound of little feet caught her attention and a tiny Koltherian child wandered into his parent's bedroom.
"Momma? Poppa?" The little boy whimpered and crawled up onto the bed and up to his mother; burying his face into her chest.
Millicent gave a soft chuckle and gently rubbed the boy's ears in her fingers; keeping him held close to her body as the warmth between them grew. Even though he was still very young- he was almost as big as she was. "Clipper, sweetheart... what's going on?" she asked the boy as his soft whimpering started to rouse his father from his slumber. Mill sighed and smiled. "Is everything alright?" she asked and looked into those pitiful little eyes.
"Mom, do you love dad?" The boy asked and looked between her... and his now half awake father.

Rifle blinked through the haze of sleep as he heard his child speak softly. The large Koltherian yawned and sat up, "What's all of this about?" he asked, looking down to his tiny mate and even smaller son. He was still very young, only fourty years of age. He was the equivalent of a five or six year old in human terms.
For the ex-Mercenary, he was still trying to wrap his mind around the fact that he had settled, and had a child. He had lived for such a long time that it had almost seemed like a distant dream- his old life, struggling to stay hidden. Painstakingly stalking his targets, learning about them, digging up all the information he could before he swiftly took their life from them. It wasn't easy. It never was, but it was his job, and it was what he was good at. But there were still those wishes.... Wishes to find love, settle down, and start a family.
Somehow it had found him, and it had since always made him smile to think back on those unpredictable days. Rifle's ears flicked as he rubbed his sons head, "Do you want us to tell you the story of how we met?" he asked the child.

The little boy's form shifted from his quadrupedal state to that of his half form. He looked up to his father and smiled softly, giving him a nod and the softest of 'yes'es. He was so damn cute Mill didn't know what she loved the most about the kid. Eventually, Millicent shifted the way she sat; propped up against the headboard of their bed with the pillows behind her back and her legs crossed so the little boy could sit in her lap while she started their story. "Well, it was a very, very long time ago.."_________________________ "Ah... shit." A dark haired woman cursed from under her breath; her words muffled from her face being pressed against the floor. As she opened her eyes, her world began to take shape- and it was not the way she had remembered it. Cold, grey floors with small rugs; cheaply made ones at best. There was a cot with clean white blankets and a pillow, a small sink and toilet, and a table mounted into the wall with small snacks; food and water. If she didn't know any better, she'd have thought she was in prison. As the blurry world became clearer, Mill stood up; rubbing her head. It hurt almost as bad as her wrist... which felt like it was on fire. When she had gone to look at it, mainly just checking for injury, there was a small red chip embedded into the skin on her left wrist. It hurt like Hell, but that was the very least of her problems right now. What was this place, how did she get here... and why?

As one of the guards passed by they looked into the womans cell, blinking in surprise when they found her awake. The miss matched Kotlherian chuckled, "You're awake? That's a bit of a shock, I'll admit. That sedative was supposed to last another hour or so," He murmured softly as he crouched down and extended his hand through the field, "My name is Gemini. I'm kind of a guard/pilot/go-to guy I guess you could say. But right now I'm just security for this section of the ship. Any questions?" he asked politely.

The woman held her head in her hand and looked around the small room, still quite confused about her situation, but soon she heard the sound of footsteps, and looked up to see, through a near invisible barrier a pair of legs... big legs. She gasped and stumbled backwards. She was startled, and she had every right to be, because everything slammed full force right back into her. She was on an alien ship, traveling through space with giant aliens, locked in a tiny box... and now one of them was standing outside of her door; and looking right at her!
She drew back from the hand that reached through the barrier, and a moment of silence overtook the room- but Mill eased up, relaxed and stood back up to reconsider her reactions towards this... being.
"Very well, my name is Millicent Grendel... Mill for short." She said softly and reached out to shake the large hand. It was about as big as her entire upper body. "I do have questions, actually. Quite a few." she said softly. "What is this place? Why am I here and how did I end up in this... situation?" she asked before her attention turned to the chip in her wrist. "And what is this?"

Gemini chuckled and slipped through the field to sit down inside the barrier, "That-" he gestured to her wrist, "Is an indicator chip. They tag the more... Unruly humans with those chips to warn Koltherians interested in buying that you may be more aggressive than your fellow slaves on the ship. Unfortunately it can cause some problems for you, but I don't think you should worry too much about it," he said with a shrug as he leaned back and scratched his chest, "Now... This is a slave transport ship. You are on this ship because your government sold you to us, or well... They sold you to our government, I suppose. They supply us with slaves, and we supply them with goods and our 'protection' so to speak. It's kind of a long story, and to be honest I've not been following the politics too closely. All I know is you're being taken to our planet, Aivos. Where you'll be sold off as a slave to another Koltherian, who will most likely keep you as a pet of sorts. It really isn't a bad life for your kind. You are treated very well, in fact most are spoiled. It's against the law to mistreat a slave, so you don't have to worry about abuse. It does happen, but rarely," he explained before he gestured to the snacks and water, "You may want to eat something while you're here. It's going to be better than the food at the station, trust me," he chuckled.

At first the human woman didn't seem at all phased with what was going on. She sat back in the small seat provided in the room and simply listened to this oddly colored giant man talk about whatever was going on with this thing in her wrist, but as he began to answer her other questions, her face started to fall into a frown. Everything that came from his mouth was absurd! There was no way any of this was real. He had to be making it up, or something..
She had... very mixed feelings about all of this. If it was all true, then didn't that mean she was being sent to another planet to become some sort of slave? Why, what sort of horrible things were they going to do to her? "My apologies but you can't be serious. A slave?" she asked. "You can't be serious that's... why that's just inhumane!" The woman exclaimed and stood up. She was obviously scared, angry, and still very confused.

Gemini sighed and shrugged, "It's been this way for many of your earths years. Hundreds in fact. He saw that she was becoming upset and he held up his hands, "Calm down. You're not a slave persay. Humans are actually cared for in quite the same manner as.. A cat on your world I believe. You will have no obligations, and you are not required to work. Though if that is something you would like to do, your owner could purchase you a license to become part of the workforce. Nothing serious, mostly in small shops or restaurants. It's a good life if you ask me," he said softly, giving her a reassuring smile, "You said your name was Mill, right? Thats the same name as my mate. Why don't you tell me a little bit about yourself?" he asked.

The woman's face went from a frown to a glare that damn near could cut glass. "Are you saying that you're taking me from Earth to some alien planet to be a God damn housecat?" she snapped before standing swiftly from her chair and storming to the other side of the room. She didn't like the sound of being a slave, or being a pet. "I'm a human being. I have a house, a car, I had a job... and a family." she said softly and looked down. "I was training to get a promotion at work so I could afford to get a new place that was close to a guy I liked." she said and let her hands fall to her side. "And now I find out that I've been sold off to a bunch of aliens to be turned into some kind of... pet."
It seemed that Mill was done talking, and would not answer the man's final question, but she sighed. "I used to live with my parents; or rather just my dad... moved across the country to get a job and be closer to a man I fell in love with as a child." She explained; raising her hands to express her emotions and emphasize what she was talking about. "We used to joke all the time about getting married and having a kid." she chuckled, although humorlessly. "Shame, really.."

Gemini's ears fell and he looked to the ground sheepishly, "Trust me, this isn't my idea. I just work on the ship," he said, not making any moves as she went to sit opposite of him, "I'm sorry that this happened to you, but I assure you.. Being a 'slave' is not the worst thing that could happen to you. If your owner likes you enough, they may even share their chemical with you," he said in hopes it would make her feel better. But it didn't seem to work, and he stood up, "I'll leave you be, Mill. Again I'm sorry that this happened, I'll try to make your stay on the ship as comfortable as possible for the next month that we will be flying," he promised as he left through the field.

That last statement, one more month, struck the woman hard. It seemed like he'd thrown a stone at her with the way she nearly stumbled back, held her head and looked back to him. "One month! I can't survive in here for a whole month!" the woman snapped; trying to follow but slamming into the invisible barrier that he'd walked through. Oh if she could have reached for that tail before he slipped through she'd have ripped it off! "Come back here! You can't do this to me!" She cried out; but rage slowly turned into sadness, and the black haired woman fell down onto the floor; leaning against the barrier that held her in the room, tears streaming down her face and falling into her lap. Everything now seemed hopeless; pointless. She should just... die here. _______________________________________ The story paused for a moment when Clipper became upset with what he was hearing. "Mom... I don't like this story. where's poppa?" He asked and looked up to his mom. The woman looked down and smiled sadly. "Don't worry sweetheart, I met your dad as soon as we got to Aivos. I knew there was a reason I didn't give up on the ship, and I think your dad is the reason." She said softly, a blush dusting her cheeks as she said that so openly. And the story did continue.

One month passed slowly on the ship for the woman. Gemini visited her frequently, whether it was to ask if she needed anything, or to make small talk about his planet while they traveled. The ships gravity increased steadily throughout the trip, allowing their passengers to get used to the more intense weight.
When the day came that the ship docked to the holding station, Gemini slipped into her cell and gently took her hands, placing cuffs around them, "Don't worry, this won't take very long. You're going to kind of be shown off to potential customers. They wont be able to buy you yet, but it's good advertisement. Stay in line and behave. You'll be taken to a holding cell after that. I'm afraid this is where we part ways, however. It was nice to meet you, Mill," he said with a soft smile, "Chin up, right?" he asked.

Mill protested the cuffs. She was obviously still very disgruntled about being kidnapped, stuffed into a cell for a month, and then being cuffed to be sold off to an alien she didn't know, who would do God-knows-what to her. With the way that sounded, she was sure that anyone else in her place would have been reacting much the same way. Still, she was cuffed and pulled from the room and brought to a huge building, where more of those alien creatures walked around; and even bigger ones with dragon faces. They must be a part of the same species... but they looked so strange.
The woman was grabbed by one of the men in black uniform, and carried down a corridor to a large room, while being asked questions; none of which she answered.

Among the crowd, one particular Koltherian watched the slaves transport off of the ship with little interest. He had only been passing by and had gotten caught up in the excitement. His orange optics flicked to one of the last ones taken off of the ship. A small woman, her emotions were written all over her face; loss, anger, among other things. She reminded him a bit of himself, and he found himself watching them take her into the building. For the first time in his life, he actually considered buying a slave.

Mill sighed and was left in the room by herself, to sit on the bed and think about her situation- not that she hadn't been doing that the last month of her life. She sighed and looked down to her wrists where the cuffs were, and that stupid red chip. She looked around for something, anything she could use to cut that stupid thing out. A small spreader sitting on the table caught her attention, and she grabbed it to dig at the chip before the sound of the door opening made her jump and cover her wrist.
A tall Koltherian stood in the door with a man behind him. "This one?" he asked the man before standing aside.
